Bulb planting in cemetery

Zioe digging with a spade

Help us reach 10,000 bulbs planted in 2023. Join in on Sunday 3 December 11am-1pm at Queens Road Cemetery

We have allium and crocus bulbs to add to section C of the cemetery to the north-east of the chapel. We will also be seed sowing. All help is much appreciated.

The tool of choice is a spade (not a trowel) for mass planting.

Tea and cake provided at the end of the session.

We did very well on the council’s bulb giveaway (mopping up the non collections). We have already planted 6500 yellow tete-a-tete and 2000 white narcissus in the colour blocks on the map, mostly during November but we did some along the main path last year. It’s a large site and we will continue to add a lot more!
In winter 2024 we will work on the sections yet to be planted.

If there is a spot in Markhouse Ward that hasn’t yet been planted with spring bulbs and you wish to plant an area up then please get in touch as we have more to allocate.

If you want to join the QBC Wildlife Gardeners WhatsApp group then drop us a line with your number.
